Pole Vault City has a storied tradition of producing some of the best pole vaulters in the state of Florida as well as the country. Coach Bobby Haeck has been coaching vaulters since 1990 and was an accomplished vaulter himself. A 2 time state champion and state record holder while at Leesburg High School in 1986 and 1987, Haeck suffered a disasterous knee accident while training for post-season competiton. Bobby returned to competition in 1990 as a Florida State Seminole, where he finished his competitive career. Since 1992, Bobby has been coaching champion pole vaulters. His attention to detail and enthusiasm provide a level of camp encouragement that is second to none. Whether a vaulter is brand new to the sport or is a national elite athlete, Bobby approaches coaching the same way. Each vaulter receives individualized instruction from Coach Haeck as well as the ability to confer with him at anytime after camp (almost anytime - don't be calling at midnight or anything). Pole Vault City prides itself on making sure that vaulters are as versed in safety and theory as they are in how high they vault. Safety is number one at Pole Vault City pole vault camps. Our outlook of camp is to teach vaulters correct technique while identifying weaknesses in technique. Personal bests sometimes occur at camp, however, it is not the purpose of our camp. We can't guarantee that you will acheive a personal best while at camp, but we can guarantee we will identify areas of weakness and address how to fix those areas. We don't have any special secrets at camp and coaches and parents are encouraged to accompany their athletes and ask questions. Pole Vault City provides a learning environment for athletes, coaches, and parents. We hope to see you at camp. Coach Haeck can be reached at 352.348.5930 or by email at nolevault@gmail.com.
